Who we are

We  moved to Tulum several years ago.  After living in San Francisco for 10 years and Portland, Oregon for 3 years we were ready to try something new.  My husband  is Mexican and we were eager for our kids to experience the lifestyle in Mexico.  We picked Tulum site unseen.  We had never been here, never knew anyone who had been here and knew very little about that area.  A dear friend of ours moved to Oxkutzcab in the middle of the Yucatan and so we knew we wanted to be near this area.

We wanted to stay away from the big city feel of Cancun and Playa seemed to be already a little too big so Tulum was the next dot on the map.  We sold just about everything, packed the kids and the cat and caught a plane.  We love it here and have no plans on leaving.

However, we did find that there was very little real information on the internet about the area.  There was a lot for tourists but nothing really for on the ground, living here information.  We started Tulum Living as a blog about the area because so many people were emailing us with questions and over the years it has turned into a online directory and city guide used by both toursist as well as locals.

We are especially proud of the calendar.  There is a lot of great stuff going on here but it is very hard to find out about before it happens.  The calendar has live music, happy hours, festivals, restaurant specials etc.  To see what if going on in Tulum, check HERE.   Check back frequently as many things are updated very near to their date.
